Upcoming Events
Jurassic Coast 2026
Camping on the Isle of Purbeck, this trip is a chance to explore the magnificent cliffs of the Jurassic Coast. Paddling Old Harry Rocks and Lulworth Cove, the sea kayakers on this trip are in for a coastal treat!
Beginners Course 2026
This beginners course is great whether you've just joined the club or you've been on the water a few times and want to get the basics right. This is a 5-part course moving beyond just "floating". It will teach you the skills to handle different boats, master your strokes, and even plan your own adventures.
Past Events
Shoreham House Boats
A sunny and easy paddle on the River Adur, going past some of the famous house boats there. It is a beautiful area, and a protected wildlife reserve, so paddling right next to the boats is not possible, however, paddlers had fun nonetheless!
Lee Valley Training Session
A brilliant trip to privately hire the Lee Valley Legacy Course. The environment meant our beginners had the space to learn and practice technique, and those who know a bit more had plenty of opportunity to practice eddying in and out, and a bit of wave surfing!
North Wales 2026
Our members went to North Wales last month to paddle the Tryweryn, and other surrounding rivers. A great way to brush off the winter cobwebs and for people to practice what they had learned at our Lee Valley trip!
First Aid Course
We ran a couple of First Aid Courses so our members ccould get up to speed on their skills, and help paddlers out more effectively on the water. This is great training for everyone, but we feel its really essential lots of our members have.
River Dart 2025
The River Dart, in Dartmoor National Park. This is always a great opportunity to socialize with other paddlers whilst also enjoying a great paddle on the Grade 2/3 white waters.

Christmas Paddle
Every year we have a festive paddle to the Wey and Arun Canal. It's always a great excuse for us to get dress up in festive atire and enjoy the chilled (in more ways than one) paddle. Click the link below to find out about our 2025 Christmas paddle!
Christmas Party
The usual Martlet party - beers, food, and a jolly good time! At this years party, we will be handing out our yearly awards, which are not all totally serious!! It's a great oppurtunity for all members to meet up, have a reflect on the year, and toast to the next one. See pictures below from our 2025 party!
Wye Trip 2025
A river trip to the Wye Valley AONB. A lovely paddle and great oppurtunity to paddle on the small set of rapids there, learning new skills and getting to know other club members better.
