The committee have decided it would be a benefit to the club and its members to provide some structure to our regular Tuesday evening sessions with committed instructors and a time slot available for newer members to improve their kayaking skills.

The club have organised a weekend to enjoy the surf (hopefully) in North Cornwall.

The sun is out and we are now able to open the Club up again albeit in a slightly limited fashion. The rule of six is back, but group indoor changing and showering is not.

Firstly I’d like to say hello to all those new paddlers who have joined recently. It’s great to see so many people making use of the facilities and getting a buzz about the club again. I’m sure everyone will have seen the latest alteration of the laws regarding meeting outside of your home or work.

I thought it would be a good idea to (try to) re-share the google sheets link as some members have mentioned that they have found it hard to find their original link.

Well, that couldn’t of got much better- lovely day, river & people & a 🍺 to round it off.

Just to remind you, we are still open to members! So long as we observe social distancing, the club is running and there have been plenty of opportunities for people to get out on the water.

Barcombe Mills to Isfield weir return- A very pleasant trip with nine very pleasant paddlers, despite a little drizzle towards the end – a very pleasant day.

With the current change in Social Distancing regulations I am pleased to inform you that club sessions are back on, albeit with a few extra rules and precautions still in place.

As the situation evolves the MKC committee has been meeting and working to adapt our club so that members can both observe the rules and still get on to the water.

Following the Government’s statement announcing a change to the lockdown rules from Wednesday 13th May I am writing to you again on behalf of the committee to update you on the club’s position.

In the light of the current situation regarding the Coronavirus Pandemic, and in line with British Canoeing recommendations, MKC Committee has reluctantly decided to suspend all club activities and events until further notice.

There will be No vehicle access permitted to the club this coming Sunday 3rd November due to the Veteran Car Run event.

If you want to learn to roll, or just improve your confidence upside down in a kayak, this is a great opportunity to learn in warm, shallow water.

Moving Water Practice on the River Adur. We managed to avoid the thunder and lightning and it hardly rained at all.

7 of us made a round trip of 22 miles on the river Adur.
